Aluminium an aluminium alloys can dissolve considerable amounts of gas in the liquid state. The most frequently occurring gas is hydrogen. The existing hydrogen in the molten metal causes porosity during solidification of the metal. This porosity affects the mechanical properties, the
density and also the appearance of the mouldings.

In the square container is a slot floor with embedded wire cloth screen, which is only permeable for sand grains and thus ensures that coarse solids can be effectively restrained.
Two side-mounted exciter motors put the bucket in vibrations. This causes the attrition of the sand lumps, mainly at the contact surfaces with each other. The effectiveness increases with the load capacity, as more weight on the sand lumps reinforces the rubbing action.

The used sand lumps are collected in the partly slotted crusher trough and destroyed by vibration with each other. The used sand falling through the slots now gets on a sieve, where the sieving takes place.
The grain size is determined by the sieve mesh width.
Foreign objects, such as iron and aluminum parts, etc., which accumulate in the crusher trough, must be taken by hand at certain time intervals (inspection door).
Sieve residues are automatically discharged to the rear.
Depending on the degree of filling and the method a throughput of about 0,5 - 1 t/h is possible.
